Budge Brewing began like many other homebrew operations all over the United States as well as abroad.

A beer snob thinks he can make a quality product equal to the commercial brewhouses. This particular beer snob is also a self-proclaimed DIY'er. His friends decide to help him out. A starter kit is given to the brewer as a gift before the wedding of two very close friends. The brewing operation takes hold in a small kitchen in south Minneapolis.

Five months later, and many Northern Brewer brew kits later, Budge Brewing is born with the introduction of a new and revolutionary brew recipe. The brew is dubbed ¡Viva Che! Challenger Oatmeal Amber to commemorate the life and achievements of a truly inspiring individual.
